Roadblocks with Vistaprint: what you likely already know.
They own your domain name. To transfer your domain name away you must wait 60 days after it was registered, personally call in to request the transfer and stay on the phone to complete the steps.
Make sure your contact information is correct because they will send you an email with more instructions and if you miss a step you can’t transfer your domain name.
They make the process very difficult.
There is no easy way to save your text or images from their website. You can’t simply export the information. You have to copy and paste all of it off of the site, page by page.
You have to be careful when copying and pasting text because it will include formatting code, so you have to paste it without formatting.
You can’t save any images that were part of the design from Vistaprint, you can only keep your own photos.
Vistaprint uses web.com as their web builder and you never know what version you are on, if it has been updated or if it will work appropriately with your website.
There are reviews of customers trying to update their sites and are unable to without completely losing everything due to version changes.
